Underglow is back!
Well, Car Shop Tanoshi builds have ALWAYS featured Underglow because we grew up in the Fast and Furious era. Over the years we’ve tried countless brands and options, but we just never found anything that was good and cheap enough to be a bit of fun. So we made our own!
Controlled by a smartphone app, any solid colour is selectable via the colour wheel, as well as a variety of flowing and colour change functions. Self timer, LED sync with your friends and even music sync is available within the app.

IMPORTANT NOTES
The underside of a car is an incredibly harsh environment. Any water that gets inside the strips will quickly result in the LED’s shorting out. We’ve done our best to waterproof the strip ends, but will not warrant strips that be been completely submerged or driven on wet skid pans (particularly the one in Sydney!)
Be particularly careful when jacking your car by the pinch welds, or installing jack stands on the pinch welds. Crushing the individual LEDs will cause the whole strip to stop working.
The control boxes can be locked using the app. (This prevents your mates from changing your Underglow colours.)
INSTALLATION NOTES
There’s a fast way to install Underglow, but it won’t last as long.
There’s a long lasting way to install Underglow, but it will take all day.
The underside of your car MUST be clean. So clean, that you’re prepared to lick it. Any dirt, underbody sealer etc will cause the 3M tape to fail and leave your strips dangling.
Water will destroy these strips, they are NOT warranted for use on wet skid pans.
It is highly recommended to install a fuse between the 12v power source, and the control box (10A)
We’ve found the best location for the control box is under the rear seat (S13, S14, S15, Chaser etc) or on the rear right strut tower (350z, 180sx etc) to use the 12v power source from the cigarette lighter socket.
